Department of Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering is the discipline of Engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for the analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It includes the usage and production of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools.

Mechanical Engineering requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, structural analysis, and theory of automation. Mechanical Engineers use all these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and production management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, robotics, and others.

The course designed for mechanical engineering is based on practical work, problem-solving activities, and work assignments. Through internships, students are trained in industries that develop their practical confidence that is the demand of so many employers.

The Mechanical Engineering program is designed to meet the criteria adopted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Subject Curriculum remains in review by the Departmental Board of Studies.
